By law, certain trailers that are being used
internationally must be registered with the Driver and
Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). This applies to:
• all commercial use trailers that weigh over 750kg
in gross weight
• all non-commercial use trailers that weigh over
3,500kg in gross weight.
These trailers only need to be registered if they are
travelling through a country abroad that has signed
up to the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
To date, the Republic of Ireland, Malta, Spain and
Cyprus have not yet signed up to this convention.
Once a trailer has been registered with the DVLA,
it will be allocated a unique registration number that
must be displayed on the trailer.

We don’t offer illegal spacing or similar. We need to see 2 documents ie Proof of Identity = D/License, Domestic Bill or a Passport and a Proof of Ownership = V5 Log Book, Retention Form or a Tax Reminder. If your vehicle is leased a letter from the Leasing Company can be accepted. This is a Legal Requirement in the UK. All plates carry our company name & BSAU details here in the UK and abroad (Europe) for our Ex-Pat customers. Also please ensure the registration you enter on your ”Order Form” corresponds exactly with the Registration on your document. All orders are printed from the information given on your ”Order Form” and cannot be changed afterwards due to the ‘Automatic Processing System’ we operate here on the premises.
